Building Ruffish Book Review #1
written by Bro. Gary Emerson
In my humble opinion, this is his best work yet. Breaking away from the question/response format of his previous four books and the Aphorism style of his fifth, Brother Nagy skillfully guides the reader through history identifying patterns, behaviors and rationale of the Ruffian.
His tongue in cheek approach to this "Field guide" is not only fun to read, it is a very serious and valuable resource for new and seasoned Mason's alike.
His previous books have been a source for Building Builders. This offering goes a step further. It teaches valuable skill sets for preserving the foundation that Masonry builds.
The Light shines brightly in this Work. The gloves came off, and a very real look at Ruffianism is unveiled for all to see. Once you observe the patterns, you will without a doubt be a believer that Ruffians aren't only in The Allegory of Freemasonry, they are in our midst today.
F&S,
Bro. Gary
Building Ruffish Book Review #2
written by W:.B:. Dale Thomas
Bro. Dr. John,
I just finished reading you latest book, “Building Ruffians”. Thank you for writing it! I now know how to more clearly recognize ruffians and deal with them more effectively because of your insightful definitions and concise descriptions.
There was an unexpected bonus too. By reading your book, I’ve also recognized some ruffian characteristics within myself. This was both eye opening and demoralizing at the same time. That was, until I read the very last paragraph of your book and it then dawned on me that what we do as Masons is truly a life long journey of becoming better men and Masons.
Thank you so much for all you do.
W:.B:. Dale Thomas
